Terms of Service
Last updated: October 25, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Bitcessing service (the “Service”) operated by Bitcessing LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Bitcessing”, “we”, “us”).
Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
The Service
Bitcessing is a tool for encrypting files in your browser and storing them on the BSV public blockchain (BitcoinSV Testnet or Mainnet). It is also a tool for preparing a contract, encrypting it in your browser for you and one counterparty, collecting the counterparty’s response, and recording the encrypted data on the blockchain.
We provide software only. We are not a party to any contract you create, we do not read or review the files or contracts you store, and we do not give legal advice. Whether a contract made with the Service is valid or enforceable depends on the applicable law and on the parties’ circumstances.
We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time.
Tokens
Storing data on BitcoinSV Mainnet is paid for with tokens. Tokens are prepaid credits that can be used only with the Service; one token is sold for US$0.01, in the packs shown on the token page. Payment is made through Stripe at checkout.
- Tied to your key. Tokens are credited to the key (passkey) you are logged in with when you buy them, and can be used only with that key. If you lose your passkey, its tokens can no longer be used.
- Not transferable or exchangeable. Tokens cannot be transferred to another key or person, sold, or exchanged for cash or any other currency.
- Expiry. Tokens currently have no expiry date.
- No refunds. Completed purchases cannot be canceled or refunded, except where required by law. If your payment completes but the tokens are not credited, contact us.
- Using tokens. Each store on Mainnet consumes the number of tokens shown in the quote before you confirm it. If a store does not complete, those tokens are returned to your balance.
- Price changes. We may change the price of token packs after announcing the change on the Service. The tokens needed for a Mainnet store follow the network fee and the BSV/USD rate at the time, and are shown before you store.
- Testnet. Storing on BitcoinSV Testnet is free. Testnet is for testing: we may limit its use (for example by file size or number of stores), and the test network may be reset, after which data stored on it may no longer be available.
For the seller, prices, payment and the other details required under the Japanese Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, see the Legal notice (Japan).
Your responsibilities
- Keep your passkey safe. Your keys are derived from your passkey on your device. We hold no copy and cannot reset or recover it. If you lose your passkey, you permanently lose access through the Service to your files, contracts and tokens.
- Verify your counterparty. Before relying on a contract, compare your counterparty’s key fingerprint with them through a separate channel you trust, such as in person or by phone. We do not verify anyone’s identity.
- Protect your device. Anyone using your browser while you are signed in can act as you. Log out on shared devices.
- Use the Service lawfully. Do not use it to record unlawful content, to infringe the rights of others, or to interfere with the Service or the networks it relies on.
- Own your content. You are responsible for the contents of the files you store and the contracts you create, and for having the right to store them and to share contracts with your counterparty.
On-chain permanence
Files and contract data are recorded on a public blockchain in encrypted form. Once recorded, they cannot be changed, withdrawn or deleted, whether by you, your counterparty or us. Do not record anything you may later need removed.
Encryption protects the contents only for as long as the parties’ keys stay secret, and records may remain public long after the Service ends.
Blockchain networks are run by third parties. We do not control them and cannot guarantee that a transaction will be accepted or confirmed, or that a record will remain available.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that records will be retrievable at any particular time, or that the Service is suitable for any particular legal or business purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bitcessing LLC and its members, managers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, keys, contracts, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or US$100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change shown at the top. Changes take effect when posted; by continuing to use the Service afterwards, you accept the updated Terms.
